A nice contrast between the snow and warm sun!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Steven!
I suppose this is a side that rarely sees the sun, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes, you're right - this is a north facing slope on the South Rim, so in the winter time it doesn't get much light.

Again that strange sensation of hot & cold in the same place
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - It seems to confuse the senses when in a photo!

I thought I spotted snow in the other picture, now I know it was not the sun...
What fabulous view again, Elizabeth. Short of eyes each time.
Enjoy your vacation!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - some leftover winter snow... or would it be early spring? March - anyway!
Thank you so much, Astrid - your phrase hits me every time I go!
We had a great break - so good to just get away!

I expect in the shadows the snow will take some time to melt if at all depending on the temperature.I guess the South Rim is quieter in winter but still la fair crowd there?

Enjoy Santa Fe!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - it seems to take some time on some of these slopes - all gone now, though! Yes - a bit quieter... never quite quiet enough! smile We've found a few spots where we can get some relative solitude and some unusual angles for photos, though.
We had a great break - thanks!
Haze and flare could be a comedy double act like Morecambe and Wise(Frank will explain)
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: HAHAHA! Yes - I suppose!

I like the way the snow picks out the rock.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me too, Chad - it definitely adds definition!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Louis!
We had a great break!
I like how the sun highlights the flat top rocks that resemble descending steps, Elizabeth. Enjoy your vacation!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I do too, Beverly - the snow definitely adds definition!
Thank you - we had a great break!
Some nice flare effects there Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian!
