how unusual to see that patch of snow in an otherwise warmly illuminated landscape. enjoy your getaway, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was still pretty chilly! At 7,000 feet, the South Rim gets its share of snow, for sure!
Thanks, Ayush! We are enjoying ourselves in Santa Fe, NM!

Looking at this picture I would have thought it to be baking hot. But then I see the snow..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Many people have said the same - but it was still quite chilly in March!

Nice to see a drop of the white stuff.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - this was in March, so some snow was still hanging around!
I really like seeing the snow in these shots as often you think of and see the canyon in hot temps.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Mary! It does often surprise people... but the South Rim is 7,000 feet... so it gets quite chilly!
Hope you are having a nice time....nice picture smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes! Enjoying wonderful galleries, culture and food in Santa Fe!
Ever-entrancing
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes, sir!
Strange there is just that little patch of snow and elsewhere it seems to have gone.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - It is curious sometimes where the snow sticks... smile

It looks too hot for snow!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Funny how those warm colors do flatter to deceive!
