Moran Point Overlook

A popular spot for weddings, this is the view to the North-North East.

The Colorado River winds it's way through the Grand Canyon.

The Palisades of the Desert towering on the river's East Side, abruptly flattens into the Marble Platform which then stretches to the Echo Cliffs about 40 miles away.

wow, this is one of the prettiest captures of the Grand Canyon i've ever seen. i believe part of your incredible result is the soft color palette.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh thank you so much, Sherri! We tend to go to some places most tourists don't... The colors of the Canyon are ever changing!

Beautifully captured. I love the layers of natural texture and color.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Beth!
However many times you see it, it never disappoints, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: So very true, Frank!

You could walk seemingly forever in this vast landscape
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well it took these guys 71 days, broken up into seasons, to hike the 750 miles from one end of the canyon to the other. If you were to add to that, exploring all the side canyons, caves, etc... yes - you could walk forever!

I'm always in awe seeing the Canyon. I see some late winter snow in places.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me too, Alan - no matter how often I go! Yes - We got some good snow this year!
Imagine this s the background to your wedding album...a bit different to Slough where Ange and I got married on a grey November day grin
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Amazing, eh?! What matters is the rainbow of love that shown about the two of you! smile

It’s so grand.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Appropriately named, then!
And is that snow on the left?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yessir - we had a good winter!
I was looking for something else and came across a map of one area of the Grand Canyon. Taking in the other areas too, with every piece of land being named, you realize the size.

Love this photo with the bits of captured snow.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's extraordinary - there are few people who have ever seen all of it. Literally... like 5 people.
Thank you, Mary!
The more pictures you and Frank show of the canyon, the more I am overcome by its apparent size and depth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's extraordinary!! You're only seeing a sliver, literally, in any of our shots!
gorgeous light and natural tones. No wonder weddings are held here.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ruthie! Yes - it's a great spot - the view in the other direction is equally as awesome!

What a wonderful vista, all those layerings and colourings.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Anne!
