A Jazzy Afternoon

This was just a group of some of our finest local musicians who got together to jam some jazz for us one Sunday afternoon.  We've seen each of these guys with other bands playing completely different music - they're all so good!

You've seen Brad before on Frank's blog:

If only I had inherited such a talent myself!

These are great pictures, Elizabeth and it shows that they are totally "in" the music. It is a gift to play lik that, you are born with it. My dad was a trumpet-player and he could do all kind of different styles.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I do envy them! But since I can't be them... I'll enjoy watching them! smile
It must have been fun to listen to yo Daddy!
J'aurais bien aimé etre là  ..j'aime cette ambiance !
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Claudine! Our favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon!

a fascinating composition of this musician and his instrument!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Philine!
Blokes like this just love to play.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh they do! It's wonderful that they hardly even have to practice!

Crumbs, that instrument looks the size of an octobase.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The thing is huge! But it fits him!
i like the blur of his right hand - they are in the middle of their set, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Ayush!

Great shots of these musicians in action as they strum away!! I love the warm color and wood grain pattern in the double bass.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Steven! That Double Bass is beautiful!
Three very fine shots. I envy musicians who are so talented they can just join in with others and produce great music without any practice. Back in the 60's a friend and I used to go to some of the jazz clubs in London and very often a well known artist who was in the audience would just get up on stage and join in with the featured band, great times to remember.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: That's exactly what these guys are like!
It's wonderful to watch, isn't it!

When they do things like this, one can see they are real musicians. I like that main picture a lot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: So true, Louis! Thank you!
