Craft Beer City

Flagstaff is the home to many Craft Breweries... although I don't like beer, our good friends Collin & Jennifer and Vince & Katie are connoisseurs - and Frank benefits from their suggestions every week when we go out.   Above is DSB  - Dark Sky Brew.

I couldn't find a site that listed ALL of the breweries in Flagstaff... but each of these lists some...

I love the motiff with the large vats and barrels. It's nice to see craft breweries sprouting up around here as well. Good for the small business entrepreneurs who are often overlooked.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't that nice! I like the interior of DSB. SouthSide Tavern is great for hanging out on their patio after work on a Friday!
Flagstaff is very pro small business... I love that!

"Give Me a fresh squeezed lemonade, Sweet Cheeks!"

Or, something like that...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile And it would be comin' right up!
C'est très beau avec ces cuves rutilantes.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The place does have a very pleasing look I think, Martine!
Nice shots Ell'...Mother road I.P.A. please, always good. Or whatever Vince and Colin suggest smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Tower Station on tap for you, sir! smile
Just don't forget to ask them the alcohol content next time! Especially Vince - I swear he's determined to find out what it takes to get you drunk smile
Looks like it will be Wetherspoons for a beer and a breakfast then Ellie.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! Not for me, thanks! smile
So..... what you doing up at this hour, sir? XOX
quite some place, to be able to sip some beer with the stills and casks not too far off, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Several of our breweries have these "Tap Rooms" where you can hang out and try the different flavors!
Over the years here in Europe, Elizabeth, I have grown hugely fond of craft beers, especially those in Belgium. When Astrid and I are out-n-about, we prefer those beers to wine!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I can imagine you'd get some good ones!

This is wonderful Elizabeth. It's so nice to note America is waking up to the joys of local brews
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Chris! Yes - our good friends, Collin & Jennifer actually plan their vacations around hitting craft breweries... the keep a list!

This sounds like a great place to visit and try them all, Elizabeth. We love this kind of beers. I wonder how the "Four Peaks" ...kilt lifter... tastes.
Love the names. Too bad you don't like a beer like that.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: You can do "beer tours" or go pub hopping... great fun!
The only thing I can drink is a good gin whiskey or scotch!
Frank has kept this quiet.........It should be the next venue for a Shutterchance meeting
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh Absolutely!!!! Flagstaff is a wonderful place to visit for many reasons... and the craft brew is just one! smile

Wow, a little piece of paradise.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed... that's how we always refer to Flagstaff, anyway! smile

Craft breweries are "a big thing" in the UK, too. I'm not a beer drinker generally but on a hot summer's afternoon after a bike ride I may have a glass then. I wonder if the Four Peaks "Kilt Lifter" would go down well in Scotland?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They're great for those who enjoy beer (which I don't)... and many of our breweries have these "tap rooms" where you can sit and chat, and sample the flavors. I don't know how that beer got its name - I might have to google it - now you have me curious!
Long may they succeed!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yeeessssss!
I love craft beers and breweries. I like them so much, I sold my beer making equipment as I can now get tasty beers in many places.

I love all the creative names beer makers come up with.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Wow, Mary! That's so cool! You made your own!
I'm afraid I don't like beer or wine at all...
Yes - the names are always wonderful!

Dogfish Head Indian Pale Ale - sounds like a good one smile Craft breweries are all over the globe. Even if we had them at the time, my first partaking in such an establishment, was in San Francisco, 1998. Looked a lot like the one in your main picture.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I love the names they come up with! I'm afraid I don't like beer at all, but it's nice just sitting around in a tap room like this - chatting with friends!

Spoilt for choice!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes! Something for everyone!
Wow, I can't believe you've got so many breweries in one town, my days are long gone for drinking much beer at all but the chance to try a few would be quite nice.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me either! I don't like beer at all... but enjoy hanging out with our friends while they and Frank enjoy tasting!

a fascinating scene with the different shapes and colors
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's very pleasant in there, Sherri!
Wow, what a little industry! I know in London there are many such breweries popping up smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is - and they all seem to do quite well!
the micro breweries have become quite popular these days Elizabeth... nice barrel tables to sit and enjoy your favorite beer....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - it's quite a thing! It is nice to hang out and chat with friends in a nice tap room like this!
I'm trying my hardest to evaluate all these craft beers. Don't know when I'll get round to Flagstaff, still got a few to do locally!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh good for you, Graeme! It's good to have goals! smile Let us know when you're coming 'round!
