Splish Splash

This was a kid after my own heart,

he made every effort to get to his destination

by hopping along the rocks and trying not to

let his feet touch the ground

Rock-hopping is always great fun when at the beach, Elizabeth...excellent shot of the "sport".
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: One of my fave's!! Thanks Ray!
He was lucky they haven't been there long enough to get 'greasy', good fun though, Part of my childhood was spent racing waves with good old Lassie on this beach....smile Good catch Ell'.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Right! Just given a little time, eh?!
I love the thought of you and Lassie running around on this beach, Frank!
Thank you!
it's amazing what kids can accomplish Elizabeth... i can see how this one stole your heart...
i like the waves crashing on the rocks....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Like dogs.... fun to watch, as long as they go home with someone else! smile
Thank you Peter!!!
I did the same when I was a kid Elizabeth! Great capture.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Good memories, eh?! Thank you Richard!

I bet he was soaked by the time he got home, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He did get a bit wet... but the kids he met up with on the other side had their shirts off and were playing ball in the waves - they were much more wet!
I spent plenty of time on the rocks...when I was a child I mean wink
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks for the clarification! smile

I can feel the drops of water on my skin and smell the salty freshness of the sea.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I'm so glad, Philine!! Thank you!

Rough sea but a lovely blue sky
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The sea actually wasn't too bad... My photo is a bit deceptive! The water was being funneled into a little eddy - where it then smashed into the rocks! It was great!

Yes, my sort of activity, too; still do it, too, given the chance, albeit with a little consideration as to trying to get it right smile Good choice of shutter speed to captue the spray.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me too Alan! Big fun!
Thank you very much!

I used to love playing on the rocks - not so nimble these days!

A good photo with the spray nicely caught and the human interest providing balance. Slightly darker on the horizon might help if you can do that without making the shadows around the lad darker.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me too, Mike! Though I still give it a go whenever I can - climbed a tree recently... that was big fun! smile
cool refreshing splash
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: yes - on a nice warm day!
Love the stop action of the water.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Mary! I'm so glad that worked out!
A great playground there Elizabeth. Nice capture of the water and the rocks in the foreground look beautiful
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: A lot of kids were on the beach having a ball! Thank you so much Janet!
A great explosion of water...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't that great!
Always great fun exploring such areas, kids have very little fear at that age.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yah! I think back to the things I did at that age... yikes! Most of my shenanigans involved bouldering and rock climbing though.
It could be a good game trying to get from one rock to another without getting ones feet wet.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - he had a time of it, but didn't seem to care!
I was looking at the waves crashing against the rocks and didn't notice the boy until I read your description.
A fabulous capture, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I'm glad you like it Beverly! Thank you so much!
