Grand Canyon Sunset

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.

I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;

so I love you because I know no other way than this:

Where "I" does not exist, nor "you",
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep. ”

~ Pablo Neruda

Once of the great joys of any day is watching the sun sink below the horizon. I've seen this at the Canyon and within minutes of the sun sinking everyone vanishes it becomes quite a lonely place.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Sunsets are a favorite of mine, as you know! I suppose most don't find the solitude as pleasurable in the dark.

It is not even dark when the sun sets there.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: No! It's true, Mary! The light lingers long after sunset!
just peeking, LOL
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Peek a boo!
I've bought Maureen several cook books over the years and usually write a poem and put it in the front but somehow they don't come out as romantic as this, I wonder why smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh -aren't you the romantic, Brian! I bet they are every bit as romantic as this - for the very reason that they came from your heart as a gift to your sweetheart!
lovely Elizabeth... beautiful poem too... you soppy babe!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Ronky! I AM soppy!! And see no reason to hide it! I'd shout from the mountain tops and in every street, how I love this man! smile
Wonderful poem and image Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Beautiful words aren't they Richard?! Thank you!

Not an ending but a new beginning smile
