The Grand Canyon 3 / 5

A Cloudy Day At The Canyon

Isis Temple is part of an uplifted, and sub-faulted block (about 3.5 mi long x 2.0 mi wide) at 7,012 feet (2,137 m).  With a sub-peak landform, Cheops Pyramid, at 5,392 feet (1,643 m). The Isis prominence is composed of erosion resistant cliff forming Coconino Sandstone.

Happy, Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Daughter Abby!

Its a lovely scene, Elizabeth.

The big para in your narrative deserves to be highlighted in red, and prefaced with a warning sign or challenge... [don't] try to read this out loud...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Ray!

OK - 'splain yourself, Lucy!
i could stare at this beautiful image all night long Elizabeth...

Here's my 'splanation, then...

"Through three cheese trees three free fleas flew.
While these fleas flew, freezy breeze blew.
Freezy breeze made these three trees freeze.
Freezy trees made these trees' cheese freeze.
That's what made these three free fleas sneeze."
Dr Seuss...Fox in Sox

And that's all I am going to say when you are Into single figures count-down.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I don't know, but I THINK I see where you're going... or where you've come from... or what you imply... smile Your mind makes me laugh!

The sun and shade are so wonderful in this series. I don't know why you ever thought these photos were not up to par.

Happy birthday to your daughter. My oldest son's was yesterday.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Mary! Since I'm not an early riser, I often don't get there until our harsh Arizona sun is high over the Canyon - and we so frequently have no clouds, my photos just look very flat. So I was pleased to have a cloudy day like this!
Thank you for the wishes - I'll pass them on. Happy birthday to your son!
I think this might be my fave' smile A really good shot,Ms Buckalew. A happy Birthday to Abby! Remind me what that countdown is for again? smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh YAY! Thank you so much My Love! I'm so glad you like it!

If you've forgotten, you're in big trouble... please reference Frances' photo! smile

I thought it couldn't get more stunning than yesterday's, how wrong can you get!

Hope you are enjoying your daughter's birthday.

Like Peter, I only just worked out what the numbers were for. Not long now!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh thanks so very much Anne! You've no idea how I appreciate your encouragement!

Well, I had to work all day... when I called her, the kids had been acting up so she's a very tired Mommy. She and her hubby will go out on a date Friday though...
