The Grand Canyon 1 / 5

A Cloudy Day At The Canyon

I thought I'd give you a break from Napa (there's still lots more to come!). Frank wondered why I never post images of The Grand Canyon.  It's because I know my images can't possibly complete with the millions of brilliant photos that have been produced by other people.  He said, "Yah, but not by anyone on ShutterChance..."    With the exception of Alan Rolfe, Chantal Huijbregts and Beverly Andrighetti...

Over the years having seen many pics taken in AZ I think I can say this is as good as any I have seen. The color of the sky and canyon are lovely Brilliant landscape.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Frances! It's hard to capture a unique image of such an iconic place... I appreciate your kind compliments!
Wonderful cloud shadows and colours, Elizabeth.

Don't worry about it, Elizabeth - yours will be unique and all the more appreciated because we know you
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Lisl, I appreciate that! - I hope these will be acceptable. I like them, and Frank seemed to think they'd go over well.

I have wondered that too Elizabeth. This is a terrific image!

The thing is, Elizabeth, when YOU go to the Grand Canyon, you want people to see YOUR images, regardless of all the other ones out there. At least that's how I felt. So bring them on. And thanks to Frank! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Ginnie! I do hope I can do the place justice! smile (Thanks to Frank for a lot of things!)
What a view...! That's just amazing. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is an incredible place. I love being there!

This is stunning Elizabeth, I do hope you show us more
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much Anne! I have a few more queued up!
If this gorgeous capture is any indication, Elizabeth, you definitely have no need to apologize for the quality of your Grand Canyon images. A superb start to the series!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Beverly - you are too kind!
A spectacular sight, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is indeed - I never tire of going there!
Fine photo Elizabeth - the problem with the canyon is that no one can produce a picture that comes anywhere near representing the sheer scale of the thing!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: So true, Tom. Hard as we try!
nice!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you! And thanks for your visit!
Wow, that's a great image, Elizabeth! I'm glad you posted it smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Martin! I'm so glad you're glad!
A fabulous place to photograph, nice capture Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is, John - endless views
Fabulous with this light/shadow play Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Richard - that's what I loved too!
Well done to Frank, I've also been wondering when we'd get some canyon shots seeing as how you lived so near apparently, and this is a fine start.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes, Frank is great for encouragement! So.... wonder no more I guess! On the Mesa I was an hour from the canyon, now I'm about 90 minutes.
This is a very good rendition of the canyon. I may have to scan a few of my old vacation pics from the North Rim.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much Larry - I'm really pleased you think so. I'd love to see some of your North Rim pics!!
