View of Santa Croce

Remember the Basillica di Santa Croce I'd featured earlier?  Here she is from the balcony of the Santa Maria del Fiore.  Our little apartment was about 1/4 way down the length of the church on the left side.

It looks to be a huge church, even from this distance, Elizabeth

OH-Oh-Oh. I love shots of huge cathedrals from afar like this, Elizabeth! It looks like a model, where someone placed the church there.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Hooray! I'm so glad you like it! It does look a bit like an architects mock-up doesn't it!
Cooooo what a view smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Sooo glad you like it! I thought the same!!

That church dominates the town
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Pretty much that section anyway! We were never lost, as we could look down just about any street and see this, or the Duomo!

Oh, this is one of favourite churches in Firence! A wonderful view from the top of the Dome and it is fine to share this vista by your fine photo!

The church looks like one of those cardboard architectural models. It certainly dominates the town.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: At least that part of town!

The ornate front stands out. Interesting roof top view of Florence - the place looks old. Pick a roof, any roof. Under such a rood the generations come and go.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Don't they look like they've just tumbled in there! Let them fall where they may!
The houses are really squished in aren't they. Amazed that they're all the same colour.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: All shades of yellow and beige- -it is something isn't it!
Vertiginous Ellie, good stuff! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Holy crap Frank I had to google vertiginous! Makes sense now if you think about the root word! I'm glad you like the photo!
superb view & composition Elizabeth, well done!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much Juan Carlos! Your compliment is most appreciated!
I really must get up there if I get back to Florence.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: YES YOU MUST! Buyin' what I'm sellin' aren't ya?!
Super view Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it fun!
A beautiful building, a lovely back-drop and what a tumbling mass of houses in the foreground.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Don't they just look like they've been tossed in like dice!
What a fantastic perspective! Really gives you an idea of the size of Basilica di Santa Croce.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it just immense! I love that Church!
What a magnificent view Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was hard to stop looking!

Lovely effect of fading colour, Elizabeth.
