A work of art getting the great design to fit the shape like this
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He was a very talented artist, and his design for this "canvas" worked very well!
Who would have thought there'd be such a "platform" for this exhibit, Elizabeth! I'd want to see every single one.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The Museum of Northern Arizona primarily features Native American art, but also western / cowboy art. Several of the artists invited to work on this platform have had their other works displayed here... whether at one of the Hopi or Navajo festivals, or on display in a different type of exhibit. Several are quite well known in Flagstaff and at the museum. And, yes - every single one was amazing!

What an enormous talent this is and too bad he did not have a long life. What an tribute this is, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He was a very talented artist... such a short life - imagine what he would have done!

Only a year older than our Kathryn. Far too young and so much talent
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He was very talented... such a loss.

Are these too precious to ever be used Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - they are meant to be displayed... It was just a thought to combine the love of skateboarding with the love of art - and I think it worked well!
Interesting medium - presumably they are for show, rather than for use? If used, surely the painting would eventually be worn off??
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes sir. Meant to be displayed! Many are in private collection.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He is the artist, the piece was untitled. I don't know who he modeled the profile after...
I like it, too - he was very talented.
That is a very impressive board, what a shame he only lived a short life.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Beautiful isn't it. He was very talented... imagine what he would have done!
There is such a gracefulness to this art.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - well said, Ruthie... that's the perfect word

Such a short life and talent lost all too soon.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very sad - imagine what he would have done...
