A Classic South-West View...

The Vermillion Cliffs, taken from the Navajo Bridge

This Vista is just North of th Colorado River

And... these boats may look a bit out of place when you

take this view out of context...  But these folks need just

to hitch up and drive a few miles down the road to Lee's

Ferry, and they can back her down into the Colorado

River.  Churning eastward toward Lake Powell, they'll

find some very fine fishing.  Happy days!!

The boats look truly incongruous photographed here in the desert
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Cool, huh?!

That are aptly named; the colours are very vivid. I've heard of "ships of the desert" smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Someone had his thinking cap on... smile Yes - and "sky islands"
The straight fronted 'monument' is special.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It almost looks like a ruin, doesn't it? Thanks, Mary!
I'm really enjoying these alternative views of the canyon to the ones in travel brochures etc., what an amazing place it is.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I'm so glad, Brian! There is so much more to the place, every corner brings a surprise!
Impressive, Elizabeth. That must be a cathedral at top left! The 2nd picture is empty space epitomised!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it just! It almost looks like a ruin, doesn't it?!
