Going by the look of your shadow, Elizabeth, you make an attractive bridge.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Why, thank you kindly. No big frills... but sturdy and functional! smile

You are miniscule, Elizabeth! Or have I missed you?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I can't even find myself!! smile
Your shadow must be as tiny as you are, Elizabeth! smile

Actually that is very elegant engineering
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I don't know much about bridges - it looks kind of basic to me... but I'm pleased you like it!

It is certainly not a shadow of its former self. that's for sure. I'd forgotten that there are two bridges there. I'm pleased that the new bridge is very similar to the old bridge. Interesting to see that the old bridge cost $390K in 1929 whilst the new bridge in 1995 was $14.7M!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I had no idea about the $$ ! Wow!

You have a 'strong' shadow... for such a tiny 'girl'... HA tongue..... LOVE both pictures. I think it feels great to be on top of that bridge.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Thank you!
It does feel great on that bridge! We stand there hoping to see the California Condor's... We saw a couple the first time we were here - and none since...
Alan's comment is interesting as the equivalent of the 1929 price in 1995 would be $3.5m

I like your shadow
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very interesting, Bill... Thanks for clarification!
Thank you!

Great B&W and I think I see you arms outstretched to the right?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Mike! Honestly - I have no idea where I am in that shadow!!

The new bridge is very similar to the old bridge. You look wonderful!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - they wanted to make the new one in the image of the old... just strong enough for modern vehicular traffic!
Are these walking only bridges?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The one I was standing on... the old bridge, is now pedestrian only. The new one - was made stronger and is vehicular only.
These are the sort of constructions where one wonders hos they built them in the first place, especially the old one.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I agree, Brian!
in that case... your bones are showing, Elizabeth! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! Good one, Ayush!

I was looking like crazy for your shadow, until I read the rest of your text smile You had me, there.

A curvy shadow - so there is something in it ...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! Thanks, Louis!
The shadow makes for a very fine photo Frank.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Chad! I like it! smile
I mean Elizabeth, sorry.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I don't mind if my photography is confused for that of my talented husband! smile
i love your b&w shadow of the bridge on the wall of the canyon Elizabeth... i'm sure that the new bridge has less charm....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Peter!
They look remarkably the same... they wanted the new bridge to be made in the likeness of the old... but stronger to handle modern vehicular traffic!
