Mud - really.

You captured this light wonderfully, dear wife...On what, if I remember, was a bad light day.I love that quote, its so apt.

A stunning view that you've captured here with beautiful colors and light!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Steven! And thank you for your visit!
Every time I see an image of this place, I realize how much it really IS a wonder of our world!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's so extraordinary to me, Ginnie. I feel so small and insignificant, standing at the edge of the abyss.... yet so much a PART of EVERYTHING! It's beautiful.

Yes it looks intriguing, full of soil & minerals no doubt..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Chock full... They're hoping to have a release from the Glen Canyon Dam at Lake Powell to try to replenish some of the beaches and micro-ecosystems down river. The speed at which it flows isn't strong enough to carry the sediment through the canyon, and the upper parts are getting choked.

The quote seems to sum up the Colorado quite well; it does shows that what start millions of years ago is still going on. It's mind boggling.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It does, indeed! So true, Alan - I'm always awed!

Liquid gold will do nicely.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you! smile
I love the blue atmosphere and how close it comes. The colour is so varied with the red visible too. Lovely!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Mary! It's amazing how blue the shadows are in this Canyon... but the landscape is various shades of red, green and gold.

Every picture you or Frank show of the canyon makes me even more impressed at what nature has done in your part of the world.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! We're so pleased to be able to bring this place to you. It's very special for so many reasons. When I stand on the edge, I feel so small and insignificant, but somehow if feel so very much a part of something great!
