Strange indeed... I sometimes wish Mom were around to see President Obama...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Awe... I feel the same about my grandfather. You know, they probably see more than we do, from their new vantage point! smile
This was odd, Elizabeth, Mt' Eldon seems to attract them....
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed - you are certainly correct... must be the updrafts?

Tis is very nice isn't it, the cloud loves this hhill
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very cool, I think! Our mountains have a high enough of an elevation that they make their own weather. Wind sheer and updrafts often create these really wonderful "blankets" or "hats" that take on the shape of the mountain itself. I just love it!

I like the way the cloud forms itself around the bills. Looks like there could be some moisture there.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - our wind sheer and updrafts at this elevation help the mountains create their own weather! It's very cool!
I think the mountain has just had its wig blown off
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ooh - that's the best interpretation yet!
Etrange mais très beau.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Amazing, isn't it!

The cloud wants to cover the hill.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I love that at this elevation the wind sheer and updrafts help the mountains to create their own weather!
Bravo pour cette photo , être là  au bon moment !
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Claudine! Timing is everything in photography... isn't it?!
A great and unusual cloud isn't it. That saying is oh so true, and it doesn't have to be ones spouse who isn't there, my Dad passed on about 30 years ago but when I go to places like steam railways I just wish he was there because he would have been over the Moon at seeing them, and I know both mine, and Maureen's parents would have been thrilled to see our grandchildren.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I just love it!
That's absolutely true, Brian! Especially this time of year... I've just decorated our little space for Christmas, and 50% of my decorations were made by my grandmother. She loved Christmas, and I know she would love to be here to have seen President Obama, and Christmas with her great-great grandchildren!
strange and beautiful Elizabeth... the bottom of the cloud has taken on the shape of the mountain... great crop....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: These mountains just create their own weather... and yes - it has taken on the shape of Mt Eldon! Thank you, Peter!
Mmm - very odd cloud.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very strange indeed...
I think of my mother with your quote. Thc cloud reminds me of an airplane flying.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't that lovely! It can make us sad, or make us rejoice that we have the sweet pain of missing them.
I love how our mountains create their own weather!
