Memories

Once the weather turns cool in Flagstaff, Frank and I

sometimes like to escape to a lower elevation...

take off our jackets, and let the sun soak into our

bare arms...  Sedona is less than an hour away,

and at least 15 degrees warmer.

I took this at Cafe Renee, where we enjoyed

a late lunch, endless coffee refills, and

amazing deserts (we didn't even share!).

All under a lovely mesquite tree...

thus the seed pod on the table!

Still Life...

Life isn't really still, though...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes....

You're right - nothing is ever still... ever... smile

Something to do again this year, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh, absolutely, Lisl!
Wonderful memories Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We have oodles of them!
Who shares deserts? gringringrin
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well.... smile
It is wonderful that you can change your climate in less than an hour. I once lived in a city where it was foggy most of the time. A half hour out of the city, same thing. A wonderful sunny day.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is, Mary - Flagstaff is just a wonderful place to be... and when you don't want to be here, you can solve that easily!
Sounds risque 'baring your arms' in public Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Not in Arizona, Chad! smile
I love this picture Elizabeth, and a very civilised way of spending the day as far as I'm concerned.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! I completely agree!

An excellent composition. With the red petals it could also be good as a Valentine's pic.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Louis! Yes, you're right!

A wonderful memory... Do it again if you get a change. A beautiful picture.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We have oodles of them!
We'll definitely do it again... it's a frequent plan!
Thank you, Astrid!
a lovely shot and a fine description, Elizabeth. you will have several more sessions in the future.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ayush!
Yes indeedy - that's the plan!
I love the picture, knowing you both so much better now is the added bonus. I even know now what mesquite is having just looked it up. Life is an interesting journey and we have just hitched another lift.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Martin, for your kind and thoughtful comment!
And you've learned a new plant! smile You probably learned that Mesquite's are Acacia's.... we have a Sweet Acacia (Vachellia farnesiana), that has such an amazing, and strong scent... I put one in my garden when I lived North of Phoenix. The house would fill with the sweet smell when it was blooming! BUT! It had thorns like toothpicks sticking out of it! smile
Ah, Sedona..Happy days Ell'. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Always, Frank! So many we've shared! smile

You paint a lovely picture; I can just imagine the scene. I like the crockery.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I'm so glad you think so, Alan!
It was a lovely day out, we've had so many!
The crockery was so simple, but elegant!
