Abandoned

This photogenic old pickup seemed so lonely

out in the middle of the Paria Watershed.

So we kept it company for a while -

taking lots of photo's to preserve it.

It is almost in harmony with the landscape Elizabeth. Great capture!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I thought the colors fit well, Richard! Thank you!

I imagine these take years to rot down in your climate, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Years and years and years... smile
Definitely a find, Elizabeth. I would have been in heaven! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was a great find indeed - we had such fun!

I wonder how old it is?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Dunno - I don't know enough about trucks... 60's maybe?

Comparing cracks with mountainside. This could be a Bonny and Clyde getaway car - but I see no bullet holes.

I like the perspective you provide in this shot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: No bullet holes - but the bed had been removed??

Thank you, Louis!
Crumbs Elizabeth, that sort of glass must have been nasty in an accident.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I would think!

Oh.. I thought that this was your truck before you got the Nissan smile With a dry climate it will be there for years before nature eventually reclaims its own.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Coulda been... I tend to drive 'em til they won't go anymore. My previous vehicle was a Subaru - She was ten years old and had 300 thousand miles on her. Word was, she needed a new engine. Sold her to my land lady who toodles her around on the Reservation while awaiting a new (used) engine to arrive from Phoenix.
Did I take that? It was a great find, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: No silly - sorry for the confusion!
I bet a few photographers have found it interesting as well.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: No doubt!!
A fine close in shot Elizabeth, no doubt there were plenty of opportunities for images like this.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you! It was full of interesting angles!
nicely composed, Elizabeth. this auto looks to have taken on some shades of the environment
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ayush! It is starting to blend in - for sure!
It really looks like it's part of the land with it's melding of colours. I'm sure you enjoyed your time shooting pix here. Well done.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is blending in, Jacquelyn! It was a great spot! Thank you!

What a find! Love it!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It truly was! Thanks Anne!
I remember Frank's picture and this one is a cracker too
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks very much, Bill!
Worth the shot - but what a shame to have such things cluttering up the landscape!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Tom! It is left there as part of a "living history museum" - the Lonely Dell Ranch. But we've certainly found such things where they shouldn't be.
this old pickup had a lot of different coloured paintjobs before it went out to pasture... love your angle on it Elizabeth....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is quite colorful isn't it! Thank you!
