Buttermere

The Lake District

 Northern England

As Frank prepares to return to England,

I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane.

March 2013, my first visit to England and to the man

who has since become my husband.

Not that you've forgotten, My Love,

how beautiful your homeland is...

but to remember the beautiful time

we had together there...

It's wonderful you have pix to share together in both homelands.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is Jacquelyn Ann - as we prepare for another separation, we try to keep in mind how truly lucky we are!

The softness of this image makes it even more appealing to me, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Ray - I'm so glad you like it, As I recall, this is straight out of the camera, except for a little cropping.
serenity

you're such a romantic Ellie....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: That's the word!
Yes I am! And with someone who appreciates it... smile
It doesn't matter how many times you see this view, Elizabeth, it is always wonderful. I like the soft look of this.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I can only look forward to the next time...
Thank you, Frank!
Such a beautiful and serene image Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Richard!

Frank has a beautiful homeland to return to, and share with you when you come over next time
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He does, indeed. I welcome the making of more memories...
What is so wonderful about this image, Elizabeth, is how you both are able to go back-n-forth to the beauties of your separate homelands. You get to keep them them!

Travel mercies to Frank. How long will you be apart this time, I wonder?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Ginnie!
We are lucky in so many ways... and we'll survive the time apart...
Frank will leave Saturday night. I hope to go over for a visit in February or March. It's up to Customs & Immigration to determine when he can return... We hope by June.

How could you not fall in the love with the grandeur of such a place
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Resistance is futile, Chris!

What a beautiful image! I can never forget this lovely part of England I have fallen in love to, too, but in a bit different way compared with you. I'm looking forward to your series.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Philine! Falling in love is magical - whether with a place or a person... smile

This is just beautiful. What a grand view and serenity is the word here.
Safe travels for Frank. I know it is not easy but you both are so lucky to have a place to come home to and be together smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Astrid! Buttermere is a most beautiful place!
We do have many blessings, and we'll get by with a little help from our friends! smile
A lovely picture of this famous place Elizabeth. I see you aren't able to come with him on this visit.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Bill!
I hope to visit in February or March. I still have to work out some time off with my coworkers.
A lovely place Ellie.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is so beautiful there, Michael!

A very good photo!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much!
Our senses lead us to a false sense of reality Elizabeth. Frank is very much with you even though he is out or range of your eyes and touch. Terrific image btw.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: What a beautiful thing to say, Chad. Thank you, sincerely.
This must be an often photographed scene. How beautiful!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is an iconic view, Mary. Standing and staring for a long time is not an option, but a necessity for the health of your soul!

It can't be easy coming to terms with the Frank must leave soon but I'm wondering it its just a tiny bit easier knowing that you are now linked through marriage. probably not! Please ignore my ramblings smile I just wonder what this seen would look today after the torrential rain of the past few days? I like the dusting of snow on the top.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I like your ramblings, Alan! While there is an inexplicable comfort that comes from being legally bound through marriage, a confidence in our ability and desire to survive separations and hardships... we've come to relish and rely on the comfort of sharing the beauty of the mundane every day... And THAT is what will be so hard. He makes every moment precious to me. Forgive MY ramblings! smile
I have actually looked on line for recent photos of Buttermere...
A gorgeous image of the Lake District Elizabeth. It's looking rather grimmer at the moment from all accounts
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Janet! I'm afraid to find out what it looks like now...
Pictures of Buttermere take me back to my first visit there in 1960 when I was only 15, I finally got to take Maureen there to show her how lovely it is 53 years later in 2013.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Such an enchanting place, Brian. I'm so glad you were able show this to Maureen!
a stunning shot, Elizabeth. this place is just so beautiful
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Ayush! It's a very magical spot!
One of the nicest lakes!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: One of my favorites!!
