I love the peach colors.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Aren't they beautiful? They are the underwing feathers of our Red Shafted Flicker- I believe the Flickers in your area are the Gilded... their underwings are yellow.

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Ray. This is exactly as I found them. The feathers (quite a lot of them) lay at the base of a tall wood pole I had at the entry of the Howard Mesa house. A great horned owl frequented that pole... so you can draw your own conclusion... :-(

I've not heard of flickers before (I was thinking of Flickr at first .. doh! Even Google tried to take me to Flickr wink ) The feathers have a beautful colour, though, and the markings are special. Having found images of them now then they are very attractive.
