Sunday Skies

The Shard

“Standing at almost 310 metres, The Shard will be one of the tallest buildings in Western Europe. For me however, the height of The Shard is only secondary. What is special is the solid and continuing relationship between two nations - Qatar and Britain - which has been an important factor in completing this project.”

~ His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saoud Al Thani

Governor of Qatar Central Bank

We'll be spending the next several days exploring

Bisbee, Tombstone, Cochise Stronghold,

the Dragoon Mountains & the Chiricahua Mountains.

All just north of the Arizona - Mexico border.

We probably will not have internet...

but that's nothing new lately!   :-)

A nice shot of the Shard, Elizabeth, don't know wether I like the building or not, I'm sure that will worry the architects....
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Frank! I think it's kind of cool - next time I'd like to go up in it!

All I can call it is remarkable architecture Elizabeth, which it is, whether you like it or not..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Pretty extraordinary!
I like the building but I'm not sure Qatar is very popular here at the moment because of the controversy over the 2022 world cup
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh dear!

It is an amazing spectacle. I saw a programme about building it; an achievement itself.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I imagine that would be an interesting program!
Quite an amazing sight Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's really something Richard!
A real "sky reacher" isn't it. It would be an experience to go up in it
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is!!! Maybe next time we'll go up in it!
I can't make up my mind about this, indeed a lot of the other new builds in London seem to take a lot away from the skyline I remember from when I used to work there.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I imagine a lot has changed...
