Oh, I love the Scots, their pride and longing for freedom ... more Scottish cannot be!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Me too, Philine.... a bit like Americans in that...
Thank God men in England don't wear dresses, well some do in Blackpool but that's another story.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh dear... I've heard the stories actually!
There is a saying that the best things to come out of Scotland are the Whisky, Haggis and the M74
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well.... the whiskey anyway. Oh- and the Buckalew's! smile

Nothing wrong with you having an opinion, Elizabeth, about anything. We do still enjoy the freedom of speech - well, for most things. Is this chap wondering why everyone scattered as soon as he started to play? I do like to hear of band of bagpipe players.

For the life of me, I can't think why Frank has lost weight since he's been with you wink
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I think he was just coming off a break... Bagpipes are good in small doses. Kind of like kids.

Well, I'm not starving him... but he's been schooled on proper proportions (and fried stuff...) smile
What could be more Scottish than this, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Not much, I'm thinking!
Scotland is a wonderful part of UK Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I hope to go back and spend a little more time!
I must say I have never seen a purple kilt but perhaps it belongs to a family name that does not exist on PEI. Was this fellow the welcoming committee apon entering Scotland? I am wondering what the table is for.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - I'm sure you're right about the color, there are several families with purple tartans.
Yes - this guy was playing right at the Scottish Border. He put some of his CD's on the table for sale
With a blast on the bagpipes to welcome you perhaps
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: That's right!!
This shot resounds with me, Elizabeth, as my paternal ancestors come from Colonsay, an island in the Inner Hebrides. Did he play a tune for you?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh how wonderful! He did play - and had CD's for sale (I'm afraid I didn't buy one...)
so you two were responsible for the outcome eh?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I know nothing... nothing... smile

Don't listen to Bill smile But then I'm biased, having two Scottish daughters.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Nothing wrong with that! The Scot's are tough stock!
I'm glad that you are staying out of politics Elizabeth... good move...

your roots are in Selkirk which is only 60 miles S/E from where Penny's mother was born in Motherwell Scotland...
it's a small world isn't it...

thanks for all of your comments today... will try to reply to each of them if i get the chance....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh you betcha!

It IS such a small world! Isn't that great!

Don't worry, Peter.... do what you can when you can! Hope you're feeling better!

Terrific title shot! Will you make a book of this sojourn?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Bonnie!!! You know, I should.... I've thought about it. I've made several books before. But right now I'm doing one for my mother in law- of her artwork, then I have to help Frank do his... You know, if I didn't have to work I could get a lot of stuff done! smile
