photoblog image Newcastle Upon Tyne

Newcastle Upon Tyne

Northern England

To start off a little series from Newcastle, I thought I'd show the actual castle!  :-)

I apologize for the lack of comments and replies lately.

I've been busy at work- pitching in to cover

for an employee who's on jury duty.

And Flagstaff just keeps having fun events that keep

Frank and I out of the house and away from the computers.

So now I have about 5000 shots to process from the past several weeks!

Not a bad problem to have I suppose -

but it's eating up all my time!

I'll try to get back in the saddle soon!  :-)

Cripes, Elizabeth...it looks more like Oldcastle!

Nice Montage.

Beware! Ole Al let slip that he is creeping up on you and Frank in a paper 777...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I know!!! When I first visited last year, I said "If that's the "NEW Castle - hole old is the OLD castle?" Frank and his son, Tom just looked at me pitifully. "Americans", I'm sure they were thinking! smile

Oh.... and yes... I'll be taking a few days off from work so Frank and I can meet up with Alan in Durango! Should be fun! smile
great collection of shots. i like the manhole cover and the tunnel.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Ayush! It's a very cool place - I enjoyed wondering about!
i love this series already Elizabeth... i like your collage... i can climb the steps up to the castle....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Peter! I hope you'll enjoy this little series... You can in your mind climb those steps without wasting a breath!
If I could, I would see every square inch of England, Elizabeth! That's how much I have grown to love that country not far from where Astrid and I live. In the meantime, I'll just have to see the parts I miss through your eyes, so carry on.

It sounds like you and Frank are having the time of your life. You never have to apologize about that!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I highly recommend a visit to Newcastle! You'll love the bridges!!
Frank and I are so happy! Enjoying the myriad of activities Flagstaff provides... always something going on - I just LOVE it!! And fortunately, so does Frank!!!

Not an area I know at all; never knew it had a castle. This is a fine collage. LOL at Ray. I'm in Heathrow now enjoying breakfast.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's a great city, Alan!!
I'm glad you got to enjoy breakfast at Heathrow- before getting to Toronto! Watch for Elk driving through the Rockie's buddy... they're in rut this time of year and are completely insane! smile

Take your time. I know how that feels to have 'no time'... I hope to be back with some decent pictures after our trip in October to the USA.
Love the collage very much.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much Astrid! I knew you'd understand!
You always have great photos Astrid!!! I'll look forward to seeing your US pics!

A fine collage! Lol at Ray- Oldcastle! Newcastle might be a fascinating, vibrant town, also in cultural respects.
No apologizing- you are also allowed to take a break of SC!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Philine! I like Newcastle - worth spending a day or two!
And thanks for letting me off the hook for being "anti-social"! smile
Never thought of the castle as a part of Newcastle. How silly of me. Love all the stonework you captured.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Funny - a lot of people have said the same! smile thanks Mary!

I dunno exactly how to put it, but I will try. Rather get into Frank's saddle than into ours smile 5,000 is a lot of photo's to work through. Nice collage - never thought of Newcastle as actually being a castled city.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Louis! I had to read it a couple times- but I know what you're trying to say!!! smile
Yes... lots of pics to sort through- but I'm narrowing it down!
Don't all cities in England have castles?! smile
What a lovely montage Elizabeth!

A very nice northern feel to these.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you John!!!
My only experiences of Newcastle is changing trains on one occasion and a coach ride across the river to see the bridges but I've never had the opportunity to look around. You found some interesting shots on your visit to the castle.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I really like Newcastle, Brian! A great place to spend a little time!
