This image works for me, Elizabeth.

Seems like ole Mitch thinks you can distil lurv back to a common essence...a bit like claiming all single malts are the same...ole Mitch should get out a bit...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Ray!

Well... I'd say, when was the last time you were a mother.... smile

You are doing Stanley Park proud, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Lisl!
A tender, lackadaisical moment, for sure, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They were quite unafraid, and were there as another woman took their photos- staying then while I took mine!

These Mallards always make good mothers Elizabeth but I regret to say, contrary to Mitch, that not all human ones do..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: There should be a test and a license required for motherhood. However, I truly believe every mother loves her child in the deepest place of her heart... where no other love can begin or end. It doesn't always translate to being a good mother, unfortunately. But the love is there, and it's real.

One of the joys of spring seeing new life. These two seem to be maturing nicely and I'm sure mum loves them.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is, isn't it! What a nice thing to say, Alan!

A charming scene Elizabeth, lol at Ray.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Chad!!
Ray likes to get very deep and challenge me with semantics... (I'm not nearly as smart- but did learn a few things from my Semantics Professor father). The conversation is ongoing! smile
Mother has ducks who have grown at very different rates...quite unusual. Lovely colour in this shot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It seems that way - but I think the closer one is just at such an angle that it looks different, it may not actually be.

Nice picture Elizabeth. It looks like a paint. Awesome circles and reflections.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Leone! I loved those ripples! Thanks for dropping by!
Lovely, Elizabeth. Ripples, reflections, it's got the lot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Pauline!!
Excellent composition, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Tom! I appreciate that!
Fine, colorful image... the purest look of love I ever got was from a stranger...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Larry!
I'd love to hear that story...
A trip out with mum on a lovely sunny day, what more could you wish for.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Perfection to me!
mother has some finely defined feathers. great shot
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: She is a beauty isn't she!!
In my camera club hat I would say an excellent shot, especially the composition, but you ought to have cloned out that 'thingy' top left and the little bit of green leaf below it, so I can only give you 95 out of a 100 today smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Brian! I agree with you about the "thingy" - it's just that I am wary about cloning. But I like the greenery below - I think it ads to the frame. And to crop it out would've affected the ripples which I love. As always- I truly appreciate your constructive criticism!!! Thank you!
Sorry forgot the Mother bit, I do agree with Chris up to a point, I know I wasn't at my closest to my Mum during my late teenage years, and then one grows up and Albom's quote becomes true.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I think we all go through our phases growing up. And one of the universal phases of learning seems to be detaching from your Mom in one way or another. Perhaps it helps to appreciate them as human beings who have their own story aside from being your Mom. I'll repeat for you what I said to Chris:
There should be a test and a license required for motherhood. However, I truly believe every mother loves her child in the deepest place of her heart... where no other love can begin or end. It doesn't always translate to being a good mother, unfortunately. But the love is there, and it's real.
Nice ducky picture, one can spot mum's favourite smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you John! Mothers' don't have favorites... smile
So true - nice POV
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Belinda!
A lovely trio, Elizabeth, the ripples making the shot. I agree with Brian about the twig, but quite like the greenery.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Frank! I enjoyed watching them. I do love the ripples- I like leaving nature shots as is ... smile
A delightful capture of Mom and her little ones, Elizabeth. Love your optimism!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks very much Beverly! My sister is fond of saying "I'm not a glass half empty or half full gal... I'm a 'if it's empty, fill the b*#@h up' kind"! Pardon the "French"! smile
I love the water ripples and the details of the duck.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Hollie - I was determined to get the ripples!
