Good Times

Travis with a big smile -

How we all should think of him when he comes to mind.  Happy.

And how, I hope, you'll all think of cowboys & -girls, roping, and this series

If you've just joined this series, already in session,

Great in B & W Elizabeth .....wonder what the joke was smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Shane! Something to do with the fact that Travis had roped the steers horns, but somehow the steer had stepped over the rope and ended up straddling it!

a white horse - and this b&w photo is so fitting to capture this scene - I see your dear cowboy will be arriving very soon!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Philine! I thought it worked well!
Yes my cowboy will be here Wednesday!! ( I'd like to see him on a horse! )
Oh, yes, Elizabeth...lots of smiles for as long as I remember this series. You had and gave such a fabulous gift with this invitation to photograph this milestone!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much Ginnie. Such an honor it was, truly. And I'm so very happy so many shots turned out well for them!

This is one for the album, (they are all for the album) but what I mean is, this is a great remembrance to happy times. Great shot.

We used to have a TV series called "Bonanza" - Hollyood's idea of what they think the rest of the world should make of the Wild West; these two looks like two of the main characters. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ah yes, I'm familiar with Bonanza... never cared for it ( I don't like westerns ), but I know of it!
You are right... these two would fit!!
Curly done good, look after my mate. I won't see him before he comes to you.Have a great time together.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: YAY! Thanks so much Michael!
I promise to look after him, Michael. So precious he is to me!
We'll have the time of our lives!!
This is a great shot, Elizabeth, and in the circumstances, very poignant, I know it will be treasured by his family. R.I.P Travis.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Frank. I appreciate the praise and acknowledgement. Yes, RIP Cowboy!

An excellent picture for his family to remember him by. Maybe you can make a little book for the family.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much Louis! I've given them prints of several photos of Travis. Wayne and Sue bought a beautiful rough wooden picture frame to put one in. I have thought about the book, and when I'm done working on the art book for my mother in law- I think I'll start on that.
I have enjoyed seeing the skilled horses.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Mary! Me too!
That's a big grin!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: A happy man!
Like Alan, this wonderful B&W reminds me of the TV westerns I used to watch as a kid. Excellent capture, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much Beverly! I'm glad it conjures up some memories for you!
Will these boys whoop up the town when they finish drovin the trail? smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Nah - they headed to the patio for some birthday cake and beer! smile
Fantastic image in Black/White Elizabeth..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you Aderonke!! I thougth B&W suited the mood somehow...
I think I like this B.& W.version more than if you had posted the colour one. So much joy on the faces of these two guys.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks very much Brian! I do think this one looked best in B&W. Joy is the word!
Very nice image Elizabeth, I have enjoyed the series much, although horses never treated me as well as motorcycles..It's a long story!! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks very much Juan Carlos - I'm so glad you've been enjoying these photos. I had such a great time shooting and processing.
You'll have to tell me the horse story sometime... smile
