Sometimes patience is needed when finding that perfect wave to ride! I love that first shot with the glistening light and crepuscular rays.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - they stood there for a while, watching a few others... Thank you, Steven!

I do so love the light on the sea like this Elizabeth..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I do too, Chris - something magical about it!
When we lived in San Diego for 7 years, Elizabeth, when our kids were born in the '70s, we always heard that neighboring La Jolla was the one one place where the temps were basically the same all year round. We often went there on Christmas day just to be at the beach! You've just brought back the memories!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: How wonderful, Ginnie!! Thank you for sharing!!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes... it seems so! Thank you, Alan!
De quoi se régaler avec ces vagues ..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes!! So many were enjoying being out on the water that day!
Waiting for some big waves
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Didn't get any real big ones, but everyone seemed to have a good time anyway!

It shows that they really enjoy this place and are aware of the beauty here, Elizabeth. 3 excellent pictures. I love the light here and the action shot in the 3rd picture.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I think you are so right, Astrid! Thank you so much!

The couple look as if they enjoy this pastime.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - I think you do have to have a real passion to go out on a chilly day... they all seemed to really be enjoying themselves!

Wow, having the people in the scene really shows the magnitude of that ocean! I love #3...great capture.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Bonnie!!
I like the build up in the first two shots to the big splash in the third.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I'm pleased you do, Brian! Great fun!
Quite a calm day but fun to paddle around. Good photos, each one.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yep - everyone seemed to have a great time! Thank you, Care!
great shots Ellie... i like the sun rays in the first photo... there are more people wearing wet suits for surfing now... the lady got a face full of surf on your last picture....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Peter! I was hoping you'd comment on that bottom photo... I thought it so funny!!
Surfers seem to spend more time waiting for the waves than actually surfing!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes... but it's worth it! Kind of like a roller coaster for me... I'll wait in line for an hour if it's a good one - over in 60 seconds, but worth it!
