I've never tried mussels. The shells make for good photo opportunities as here, though.

The shells make a very good picture but there is no way I could contemplate putting a Mussel, an Oyster or anything else like them in my mouth, urrrgh!

the rich colors make for a terrific result
I love mussels, or used to. We slurped our way through a whole bowl full a while ago only to find the slimy, black rotten one at the very end! Still, the accompanying bottle seemed to nullify any bad effects and no harm done.
