Swirling.... Twirling...

It's time, again, to share with you the brilliance of the  Ballet Folklorico de Colores of Flagstaff !   Señor Padilla and his beautifully costumed dancers entertained us with their energy and vibrance at our Flagstaff Peace Day Festival.  It's such fun playing with different shutter speeds to either stop the action, or show a blur of bright blues, reds, yellows and greens!  I hope these won't get too monotonous... Enjoy some Mexican color as it was displayed on a sunny Arizona day!  Let the images warm you if it's chilly and damp where you are...

Love the colours here and how you're captured them. The Arizonian sun is clearly evident.

You and Frank are in fine swirling mode E. I love how the face is still pretty well in focus with the wonderful swirl of motion in the dress
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We didn't even coordinate!! Thank you, Bill - such a challenge - it was great fun!
All very good Ellie.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Michael!
It seems a lot of swirling of the clothing and keeping the head fairly still. Perfect conditions for what you want to do here. Love these!!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They are just amazing, Mary! And so much fun to photograph!
You've been a busy lady Elizabeth, all five are very good images, I lkke all the blured colours.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! Trying not to over do things... but outside of work, there's much fun to be had! smile

Stunning series of photos which illustrate the motions beautifully! It makes quite a difference when the dancer's head is steady and everything else is twirling. Gorgeous colors as well.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Steven! I kept trying to capture them with their heads or faces in fairly good focus, while showing movement from the neck down. Very challenging - and fun! Thank you!
great captures of the action/movement

I haven't played with my cameras to do this time of photographs in long time. Still learning to use my latest Canon.

ltypically I shoot a video and then capture individual frames
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Alan!
It's great fun for me to try to capture these events... playing around with different shutter speeds to either show or freeze the motion!
