A Sea of Canyons, Buttes, Temples, Creeks, Points...

And this is why I sometimes have trouble identifying the individual features...  :-)

This being about 1/8 of the entire Grand Canyon...

Gorgeous view with splendid colors, shapes and crevices!! Its vastness is so impressive.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Steven! It's breath taking!
really liking the stark illuminated and shady areas topped by the almost spotless blue sky, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Ayush!!

I find the horizon amazing for its apparent flatness.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - the plateau - once an ocean bed, appears endlessly flat!

Presumably over the years every top surface has been given a name?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I honestly don't know if every one has been... I assume so, but I keep looking for a source for the names, and many of the features are missing from the lists.
It is just awesome E
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: "Grand" indeed! smile
Terrific shot, just like some of those views on that video we've both watched online.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Brian! Every angle startles!

What a view point!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: One of my favorites! smile
I suppose the maps change too with some features changing or falling. The blue shadows are very cool.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I have been trying to find a source that lists them... I've have several different books / maps - but so many features are not named in them, when I'm quite sure they do in fact have names. I'll keep looking. Thank you, Mary!

if you can't name the features and it's in your back yard, there's not much hope for anyone else! A mind-boggling place. Yorkshire folkk would save "Eeee.. reet grand".
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's most frustrating sometimes!! I can just hear that!
Many signs of geological turmoil!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes - can you imagine the history in a time lapse video?
