I remember seeing those....this is a wonderful rendition. I heard the girl scouts stuffed their pillows with this moss not knowing it was full of bugs!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Seems classic, doesn't it... Thank you, Bonnie!rnYes - I've heard that! Also, of tourists draping them on their heads p eeew!!!
C'est très beau avec toute ces variétés d'arbres.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: There were many kinds of trees- I took a photo of the legend so I'd know what they all are!
The Spanish moss is so iconic of this area, it was great to see it for real ( For real...smile ) The Oaks were tremendous too. Thanks for taking me Ell'. X
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it! For reeeeal! smilernMy pleasure, sir! X
Assuming this is still Savannah, Elizabeth, I think I know exactly where this is. Gotta LOVE the Spanish moss!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes ma'am! The top image is Forsyth Park, the bottom is Pulaski Square, and I can't remember the middle... I'd have to look through my photos in order to figure it!

This is memory lane, Elizabeth. The first time I was here was in 1976. I was excited to even get another chance of being here for 2 days a few years ago. What a delight.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I'm so glad I could bring back some sweet memories!

It's a beautiful place and looks to be well cared for. TI like the hanging foliage on the trees (sorry, brain failure - no idea what it is called!)
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It really is, Alan. Well kept. A lot of pride in the city.rnSpanish Moss (It's in the title, silly!) smile

Quite exotic looking.

I have heard somewhere, that someone referred to it as angel hair - same as that christmas decoration stuff.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh - I hadn't heard that one! Cool!
What a magnificent trio of images, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that hanging moss before.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! It's wonderful... always makes me think of the South!

Nothing says "Savannah" more than these oaks and moss!! I am always intrigued by their lateral branch forms. Great series!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ain't that the truth! Thank you, Steven!
I definitely have to visit the South...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes you do!!
When we were there years ago, Elizabeth, it was in February. Seeing Spanish moss hanging from the trees seemed somehow dreamlike to me. Did you get to visit the famous graveyard?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is very much like a dream, isn't it?! No we didn't go to Boneventure (?) - we just visited the Colonial Cemetery.

The moss is providing a natural decoration. What a variety of greenery.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't is amazing!
I remember it well from my first visit to Louisiana.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh - I bet! Yes!
One of the best parts of the south is the thick Spanish moss giving such an atmosphere to the whole region.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I think so, too! It's so foreign to me!

i think this city could be identified in photos so easily because of it's trees
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I certainly always think of Savannah when I see these!
