Well, he does look a little anxious...but it's good to look back over your shoulder, right?

People do tend to forget dogs are the natural predators of sheep. This one looks cautious..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - they do seem to think of Fluffy as a friend to all.

It's good that there are signs up to remind dog owners. Unfortunately some people think that their dogs would not chase a sheep and so the so does not apply to them. Hopefully Sheep here and and friends are safe; she is checking though.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes - it's unfortunate they need to be reminded... but good.

The sheep - a Herdwick- is a real beauty.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Is it a Herdwick? I thought they had a little wider face... but I know nothing about sheep!
Trop mignon , mais vraiment rassuré d'être là  ..
Bonne journée
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They are pretty adorable!
You hope that people take notice!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I certainly do!
I wonder what the sheeps looking at. The notice is certainly to the point, and rightly so.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I think it was Frank... smile
The notice is sadly necessary!
Are dogs worrying sheep shot by the sheepherders or by the authorities, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I would imagine the sheepherders... but that's a good question!
Adorable sheep. The sign means business!!!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They are, so cute!
Yes - I think there's no mistaking the intent there!

it has such pretty markings

i'm glad they protect them

(the little dogs are ferocious in my experience)
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: A really interesting look, isn't it!
Yes - sheep are big business in England! And yes - sometimes the little dogs are the meanest!
Apparently all Herdwick's start out black...( who knew? ) If a dog chased me I'd be worried!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I did not know that! Is this a Herdwick? He seems to have a narrower face... what do I know about sheep!
Yes - if a dog even looks at me strangely I'm worried!
that Sheppard doesn't mince his words Elizabeth... the sheep with the curly horns doesn't look like the dogs would bother him....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Nope! Rightly so!
He does seem like he could hold his own! smile
Hasn't made its mind up yet smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Not yet - but in a moment he trotted away!
Fine shot, and a timely warning...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you.
The sheepherder doesn't mince his meaning!

Splendid capture of this two-tone sheep! I've heard a lot lately about keeping dogs on leashes when near sheep across the Atlantic.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Steven! Yes - they're quite serious about it!
