photoblog image ROAD TRIP !!!!

ROAD TRIP !!!!

Heading out to Colorado & Wyoming for a few weeks.  I'm not going to be posting - as I won't be able to reply or comment on yours.  We'll be driving, hiking, exploring...

*** AND, Today - Is our day to mail off the three inch thick packet of evidence to the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service.  Applying for "Change in Status" for Frank's Green Card to become permanent, so we can stay together in the States.  It can take up to a year for approval to come - but hopefully all of our "proof", will speed up the process. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed, and to all of you for being moral support during this exciting, crazy, complicated ride.  As you've said  "Love WILL prevail"!       XOX

*** The photo above is not the vehicle we'll be taking on this 1000 mile trip!    :-)

Hoping you are not heading out in this car! Have a great time and best of luck with the bureaucracy!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Fortunately not! smile

And - obviously - the best of luck with the green card status
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: YAY! WE DID! smile
What a wild and crazy journey this has been for the two of you, Elizabeth. Love truly WILL prevail! Enjoy your getaway for now and don't even think twice about us (once is okay).
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed, Ginnie! Yes - I hope whomever is looking over this crap will see US!
I thought about you once... on your birthday smile

I am so glad that you take another car than this "one eyed monster"... grin...
Halleluja to your "home-work" and now I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that somebody with brains and common sense will do your paperwork...
For now, relax enjoy and don't even think of us, the next 12 days are yours and Franks... smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Yes! We rented a vehicle and put over 1700 miles on it before flying home from Denver! smile
Thank you - yes... brains would be helpful!
We certainly enjoyed our vacation... back to the old grind now!

All our yesterdays.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed!
Fingers crossed. A year? That is ridiculous
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Bill! - I know... but as a friend who is ex-Army told us... they probably have one guy working on these things every other Tuesday... smile
What a dynamic close up!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you - it was a great old wreck!
Good decision not to travel in this wreck. Have a wonderful time in Colorado & Wyoming, Elizabeth. Hope your packet of evidence will speed up the permanent status for Frank.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile One of my better decisions! smile
Thank you, Beverly - we had a wonderful trip!
And thank you for your well wishes - can only sit & wait now

Wow! what an adventure, have a wonderful time!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We had a fantastic time, Anne! Thank you!
I don't think this car would even get you to the end of the road. Enjoy your trip.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I believe you're right! smile Thanks, Brian - we did!
Jeez, Louise. I can't wait to see the C and W shots. I am sure you will have no problems with the bureaucracy other than the time it has taken.

Safe and happy travels, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: The scenery was as spectacular as you can imagine... but whether or not I managed to capture it properly with my camera remains to be seen! smile
I hope you're right on the green card!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Ayush! We had a blast!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it a wonderful wreck! Thanks, Peter!
You'll be happy to know we rented a 2018 vehicle with 1100 miles on it... to which we added 1748! smile
Polyphemus? smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! could be!!! Thanks, Claudio!
Go get "em folks!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Thanks, Larry!
Nope - that one is clearly not going anywhere! And good luck for a speedy resolution of the green card problem.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Only to the scrap yard, I think!
Thank you, Professor - and again for your kind letter of support!

This could use a sign: "My Porsche is in the garage"
Glad you will use a different vehicle for your foray! Have a wonderful time. We'll look forward to your new images.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: HA! Yes it could! smile

Yes- we rented a 2018 vehicle with 1100 miles on it. To which we added 1748! smile I hope my shots will do the place justice!

All our best to you and Frank as he become permanent! Hopefully that year flies by! Enjoy the trip!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, kindly, Steven! I do, too - anyone who says it's easy to immigrate legally is insane! The entire process will have taken six years and about $5000 by the time it's all done.
We had a great time - I hope my images will show the beauty of where we were!

A trip in this blue wonder would be very exciting.

No wonder the immigration authorities take forever on that paperwork. Considering that Donald Duck is changing the rules every few days.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes... as it would have to be completely in your imagination! smile
So true, Louis... so very true!
sorry I missed this message.

Hope you had a great trip fun of adventure and fun.

49 or 50 Ford?

The first family car I have memories of was a 1950 Ford 4 door that my WHOLE family took a week or so road trip from Detroit to Platte, SD to visit a Scottish cousin, her husband and two sons, Dicky is one year younger than me.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: No problem, Alan!
We had a fantastic time - I only hope my images will convey the beauty of where we were!
You know - I'm not sure... I was restricted to this close up by other wrecks packed in around it... could it be a Packard?
Love those memories! Some of my earliest memories were of summer road trips in our old Station Wagon - I don't recall the make now... smile
