Get On The Bus

Or the plane, in Frank's case!

On his way home to me, he'll fly from Manchester

to Chicago... a new route and a new airport for him.

If airports count, this will tick off his 9th U.S. state.

I don't really care - as long as he makes it to Phoenix

safe and sound... and I can hold him in my arms again!

These camper vans really were iconic and a joy to drive
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I've never driven one - but I do love seeing them!
They were much loved and still are.

Jut like ole Frank wink
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed - on both counts!

These iconic campers look great, but I'd worry about driving one with my knees in the 'accident crumple zone'.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I've always wondered about that!

A surf dude's paradise; the old VW campers were loved by the hippies in the 1960s.

I use to use Chicago quite a lot; I used to fly United and that was their hub. I hope he has plenty of time for his connection. Maybe he use the US residents channels?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Still are, as you say!

His first flight was over an hour late, but he still made his connection! And yes, he can use the residents lines now!
A fine collection of old Volkswagon campers. Occasionally one still sees them about.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Aren't they wonderful? There are several here in Flagstaff!
I had a VW camper in the early 70's. My shifts at the hospital gave me 5 consecutive days off every three weeks so off to this island we would go. We eventually moved here in '76. What memories these campers bring.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh that's fantastic!
Are you thinking of buying a van? that way you could meet him at the airport...smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! Funny, Larry!
Be gentle with Frank Ellie, try not to ware him out.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Too late! smile

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They always scream of "summer" for me!

I have taken a quick look at your pictures, even you do the cables well, this one has been so special to me. Sorry for my English, but in this language I'm pretty illiterate, fortunately there is Google
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Grazie, Claudio! And thank you for taking a look at my photos. Google does help, amazingly. I usually post landscapes and nature... but every now and then it's fun to do street photography.
