photoblog image Heaven Let Your Light Shine Down

Heaven Let Your Light Shine Down

Cattail fluff drifts through the air as the sun shines
through the long needles of the Ponderosa Pines

Continuing a series of images from a snowy walk through the woods on January 9th.  Flagstaff had gotten nearly three feet of snow the previous week, and then the sun shone gloriously on Saturday morning. There is as an extensive trail system around and through Flagstaff, and I'm blessed to live about 20 paces from the Sinclair Wash section of it.  My walk takes me through the forest, along a small wash that is the tributary to the Rio de Flag, next to the cattails of the Rio Marsh area, and the water management pond.  (I apologize that many of you may have already seen some of these on Facebook...)

I like how the sunlight gives an extra sparkle to the image.

Strange to have the snow and the cattail fluff at the same time, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It did seem so, Lisl! But such a pleasure to walk around in!
I can see an animal head here Elizabeth!

You certainly made the best of it didn't you
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I did enjoy my walk - completely lost track of time and almost missed my Skype date with Frank!
You have got this spot on E.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Bill!
Who would have guessed? We are having another storm today/night. Hope it is pretty tomorrow like last week.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was surprising! I hope your storm is lovely!

"Cattail fluff" makes me think this could do for a Caturday image, too. smile I do like the sparkles. I love to see the snow in the trees; its not the same appeal once the snow has come off.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Maybe so! You're right - winter can be dull, but the snow brightens everything up!
This series is almost, but not quite, making me feel that it would be nice if it snowed, this is a super shot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Snow can be so beautiful - especially here in Flagstaff, where you know the sun will come out - this coming week will see sunny days and up to 60 degrees!

A bit darker blue in the sky and it could be mistaken for a starry night - this is really pretty Elizabeth
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I like that take on it, Anne! Thank you!
You are enjoying this lovely snow
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh, indeed!
this looks a lot like our spruce trees around out yard Elizabeth... we have a sunny day with a mild breeze and the light snow drifts off of the heavy laden bows....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I imagine it is much the same! Lovely isn't it!
Lovely shot, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Tom!
I feel like we should be singing carols around this...smile A lovely shot love, great light.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Wouldn't that be great! Thank you so much, Frank! I'm so happy you think so! XOX
