Next To Me

We're spending a lot of time doing paperwork and gathering "evidence" of our relationship for the Immigration Department.  Frank's Green Card is probationary - and now we need to prove that our marriage is not a sham!   :-)    So forgive me if my presence on ShutterChance is a bit hit and miss for a while - and forgive me for digging through the archives.... I think these photo's will be more interesting than anything I've distractedly shot recently...

You need a pic of Frank picking on a banjo and sucking on a dry grass stalk...and change that cap for a red one that states "MAGA"...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: OMG!!! That's EXACTLY what we need! smile

Jolis portraits. Bonne chance à  Frank.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Martine! And thanks for the well wishes!
How did you get this photo, do I know you?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: STOP IT! They may not have a sense of humor!!
Oh, for Pete's sake. Are you kidding me????????????????????? Hopefully this time around you'll sail through the entire stupidity!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile They want to be sure that, two years in... the marriage is proper. So we have friends writing letters and we have to gather proof of cohabitation. Right now I'm collecting photos and receipts of evidence that we've traveled together and have met each others' families... It'll be fine, I'm sure - it's just a little stressful and time consuming! Thank you for your vote of confidence!

Whatdoyoumean "a sham"..... they are a sham, show them the skype records, phone calls, text messages.... oh wait, marriage license. I am so sorry for the both of you that you have to go through this again, don't they have something else to do?? I see Frank bought the right cap though, now he has to get into a farmer overall..........
I love your picture!!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I know.... it’s a bit crazy.... but to be fair, there are people who marry a Americans just to stay in the country. Our story is unknown to them. I’ll be inundating them with photos- that’s for sure!

And I was under the impression that everything was done, dusted and official for you two. Now this.

You know, crossing borders is getting to be quite a headache. Next week I will leave for a 3 week trip to Berlin and West Flanders. To get a Schengen visa took days of gathering all the paperwork. 42 pages of it. Then they want it in duplicate. Two days after submitting the application I receive my passport, with the visa and the total set of duplicates. It is beyond reason. When you multiply the number of visa applications with 84, you end up with many reams of paper. Not to say anything about the costs of the visa and everything associated.

Anyhow, the visa thing has got to the level, where I get slow in the joints, when facing the task. I was thinking of joining the SC get-together later the year, but then I have to apply for a UK visa. Exactly the same effort as with the Schengen visa and a little more expensive. I feel negative about visiting the UK, but will withhold final decision until I am back from Belgium.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Getting there, Louis!

That is awful - to have to do that anytime you want to go somewhere? At least our passports are accepted pretty much everywhere, and don't expire for ten years.

It would be great to see you, Louis - but completely understand...
Good luck with your quest. A lovely portrait!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ma'am!
What a load of crap. I think we would all vouch for you.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Don't hid how you feel... smile
Maureen and I can't believe this, it's no doubt one of those things where it's easy to pick on the good people like you and Frank rather than some others where it can all get a bit complicated. We will be thinking of you both and look forard to reading the good, and sensible news, very soon. BTW if you want pictures of you cutting your SC wedding cake at Shugborough there's a lot of us have got some smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much to you both! I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing... but you just never know I guess. I can't imagine they'd have any reason to think our relationship is not what it is... I don't know how to really show how crazy we are for each other! smile But we'll do our best!
I can tell them my coffee mate is happily married to a lovely Flagstaff lady..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Michael!

LOL at Ray...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It seems our politics agree... smile
I did not understand, sometimes Google translations are not the best, however I can say that I saw two funny faces. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile You are right, Google gets it quite wrong sometimes! As long as you smiled!
