nicely spotted

very cool image
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Sherri!
I like this a lot. Very nice. I'd lose the frame, personally, but it doesn't hurt too smile . There's something compelling about a tree growing around a constriction....
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Rob - much obliged...
Perhaps a different frame or border would enhance it a bit.
Yes - you do wonder about the history...

Beautiful compositions with the glistening light on the water! A great bokeh effect in the first composition.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Steven! I was pleased with my polarizing filter on that day!

I love the detail, color and sharpness of the top image. Since you are cropping the pole anyway, why don't you try crop right where the sparkly water starts. The bottom adds perspective, but there is so much more to look out, the rope doesn't stand out as well.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Harry - and thanks for the constructive criticism...
I see what you mean about cropping the sparkles out... it tends to clean or crisp up the rest of the image. However, I personally like the sparkles, and feel they balance out the stones on the bottom of the shot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I LOVE the Lake District - I find it very magical and spiritual! I love it's ruggedness. But then, I'm a mountain girl, so... smile
thank you, indeed, for the high praise! XOX
Ropes are wonderful for that, Elizabeth. Makes me want to learn all the different knots there are! smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes! One of our community colleges actually offered a rope tying class!

Now there's a thing; I can't recall ever seeing even the smallest of dinghies on the lake so I wonder what was tied up with the rope?

Harry makes I think a valid point about the crop; scrolling the image around the screen it does make sense.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We saw a couple of kayaks... that's about it!
I do see Harry's point - and I see how it cleans / clears up the rest of the image (getting rid of the sparkles). But I, personally like the sparkles and feel they balance out the stones on the bottom of the shot.
Très belles prises de vue ..merci à  toi
Bonne journée
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Claudine!
This is beautiful, Elizabeth. Love both picture and I so like the glistering on the water. Do you have a polarization lens too?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Astrid! Yes I do!

This reminds me of the state of the rope I use to tie my garden gate open.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh dear.... If it's no longer doing it's job - it then becomes art!
Another fine pair of pictures E. I love the colours and the sparkle of the water.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Bill! I love the sparkle, as well!

Various shots of the same subject, make it a study, I think. The composition for the bottom one just makes it the winner of the two.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Louis! Much appreciated!
Behind every picture there is a story, I wonder what this is.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We'll have to continue wondering...
What a beautiful mood. I love the tangly texture of the rope. The sparkle on the water is superb.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh thank you so much! I really appreciate your compliments!
this is a good composition with the rope and a piece of net wound around the mooring pole....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: thanks so much, Peter!!
