Such clouds formations are always fascinating to see; they are often so transient. Here one moment and gone the next.

Is that an old volcano Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very likely. During the formation of the Rockies- there were several volcanic area's... some of the mountains (like our San Francisco Peaks), are the jagged edges (or arc) of a volcanic spout.

How interesting to see them standing in such an isolated spot! Looks almost like smoke rising.
