Quelle jolie fleur, je n'en ai jamais vue.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it lovely! I think it only grows at high elevations in the US southwest.
Your forte Elizabeth, beautiful.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Awe- thank you so much, Frank!

Gorgeous series of photos with excellent clarity!! I love the explosive anthers and filaments.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Steven! Isn't it a wonderful blossom!
Elegant in its beauty.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is, isn't it! Thanks, Larry!
She's a rare beauty, Elizabeth. Colorado can be proud of your depiction of her!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: She is! I’m sure they are quite proud.... they did well to choose her! Thank you Ginnie!

What a delicate flower and very well captured, Elizabeth.Wonderful colours and great DOF.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Astrid! I was so pleased to find so many pristine specimens! Arizona’s Columbines are yellow or red.

A fine flower Elizabeth.
Do all the states have a flower?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yes.... and a state tree, state bird, state flag, state butterfly, state mineral..... it starts to get a little silly with the state amphibian, state soil.... smile

Ooooo... now that is very pretty and you're captured it well. Such beautiful colours in the petals.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Alan! They colors range from a deeper, almost purple blue to such a pale blue it's almost white!
Superbe ...et les photos très belles
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Claudine - it's a really beautiful flower!

Great pictures of flowerado.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ha! Thank you, Louis!
beautiful flower....then aren't all flowers beautiful until they wilt and die?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is, Alan - and you are so right... even then, some are lovely even when faded and lifeless!

Exquisite portraiture!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Bonnie!
If Trump had a flower named for him it would be Japanese knotweed.

The dreadful man is doing a great job of insulting our country and telling us we really like him a lot gringringringringrin:

This flower is a delight however
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I can think of worse... smile

I know - the nerve... He's such a waste of space. (I usually call him much worse - but I shouldn't put that in print...)

Thank you, Bill!
What a lovely flower, I'm assuming it is a wild flower rather than a cultivated one.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Isn't it pretty! Oh yes - all of the state flowers in the U.S. are native wildflowers!
i posted some Columbine flowers last week Elizabeth... but they had just been planted and didn't quite look this good this one....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I remember! They are so happy in the wild!

beautiful shots, Elizabeth. i can picture you overjoyed in this place. lovely details too.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ayush! Oh you are so right! In fact - when we were hiking at Crested Butte, surrounded by wildflowers, mountains and sunshine - I kept turning to Frank and saying "I'm so HAPPY!" smile
A lovely set of pics - and flowers!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Tom!
This is a little more like ours than the columbines you showed a month or so ago. Beautiful shots.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I guess so... it has the same shape as the yellow ones. These and the yellows have 5 petals and 5 petal looking sepals... and they face up. Yours seem to droop down a bit like bluebells and appear to have many petals. There is a red columbine here, which I've never seen in the wild which is more like yours. Amazing - our natural world!!
