photoblog image In Miniature

In Miniature

In the Durango & Silverton Railroad Museum there is a portion of a miniature train set - staged to look like the old railroad when it was working to bring coal down from the mountains.  This guy is pushing a cartload of coal down the tracks to the waiting railcar.

The good old days. Or in his case possibly the bad old days..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Could be either - depends on which side of the tracks you lived...

Thank you, Claudine!
Two really great images Elizabeth, I bet 10 years ago you would never have imagined you would be photographing things to do with railways, you have a very good tutor, you must be about ready to receive your 'Diploma in Railways' by now smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Brian! Um - nope! You are certainly right there - I'm learning a bit. While on our trip, we visited a miniature train museum in Greeley. It was very large and elaborate - I didn't REALLY want to go... but once there, it was I who kept running from one display to the next, trying to photograph the trains coming through the tunnels etc. smile
Quite realistic, Elizabeth. His silhouette really stands out against the lighter background.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Beverly! I hoped to capture just that!
oh the stories this could tell.

Very nice composition and capture
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Wouldn't it be great to hear them?! smile
