Lovely view into the light.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Beth!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Frank! It's a Wisteria trunk! (though I just told you that...) smile

so inviting
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very!
Très jolies pierres qui encadrent la porte.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I think so, too, Martine!

I feel sorry for the tree, but think the portal is great
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I wasn't sure how to feel about the tree... I thought of it like a Bonsai... if it's done very slowly and gently over time - does the tree suffer? I don't know - they won't say.
I like this. The warm inviting light from within
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Bill! I thought it was just a lovely sight!

I like the reflected light very much in the wall and the composition with the light itself.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Alan! I just thought it was really nice!

That portal looks light and inviting.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It does, indeed!
I like pictures of gateways that leave one guessing where they go to.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I do, too, Brian!
Love the lighting beyond the arch and the door to the side. Will we get to see what's on the other side, Elizabeth?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Beverly!!
I'm afraid not... It was a private courtyard...

I'm glad Frank asked about the lower picture, I was wondering if it was rope.

Lovely lighting in the top image drawing you in to see what is through the doorway.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Lisl is concerned about the tree- and I wasn't sure what to think - but I decided if it's done very slowly and gently like a Bonsai - does it bother the tree?
Thank you, Anne!
excellent shot, Elizabeth. i like the yellow tones surrounded by the blue on this side of the arch.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Ayush! It was just one of those simply lovely moments!
Thinking of Dante, this seems the door of hope
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I really like that idea, Claudio!
Nice composition, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Tom!

This is exquisite. the light, the angle, the POV...the flare!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you kindly! At first I thought "DANG - there's a big blob of flare" - but then I decided I liked it. And... my sister, believes these to be "energy orbs" - which I don't believe in, but it seemed a lovely thought anyway! smile
Very nice photos, both.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: thank you, Mary!
doors, doorways and entrances have been a photographic subject of mine for over 40 years.

Like this one
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: There is something about them, isn't there? I have noticed you also like to take shots of "portals"! smile
