They seem to be gathering for a decent gossip session, Elizabeth...probably to chat about what they saw whilst peeking.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I'm sure you're right. Oh the tales Humphrey, Doyle, Rees, Fremont, Abineau, and Agassiz could tell...
Très jolie vue sur ces montagnes.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Martine!

As if they are competing to see which is the higher.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: They do seem to do that. This, being a volcano, can be circumvented... and when you do so - perspective plays with your view. One moment Doyle Peak (11,460'wink seems taller than Mt Humphreys (12,633'wink - when you know it isn't... etc.
I love the clouds peeking over it all.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Mary!
A great vista...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Larry!
You live in a lovely part of the world, until you started posting on SC I always thought of Arizona as almost arid desert or like Monument Valley.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We do, indeed!
Unfortunately you're not alone in that thought. Few people know the elevation of Arizona varies 12,000 feet!
Whatta lotta peaks
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: My favorite little corner of the world!

A beautiful view in this nicely-layered composition!!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Steven! Mountains have such character... I could never live far from them!
I like the gap between the row of trees in the front row and the mountains in the background.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Claudio!
clouds peeking over the peaks peeking over the trees
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile YES!
