Old leather makes attractive image material in your hands, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Ray. This is an old saddle sitting in the bold Arizona sun

it's beautiful

i personally find brown leather to be much prettier than black leather
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was an old, stiff saddle sitting in the bold Arizona sun.

I agree, somehow you don't see the details or textures as well with black leather.

Splendid clarity and textures in this leather!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Steven!
Next to wood, Elizabeth, leather may be my next favorite thing. It may even be a toss-up! If I get close enough to the screen I may even smell it. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I do know what you mean! But, I'm afraid the older I get, though, the more sad it makes me... I think by the time I die I'll have worked around to being vegan...

Looks like real tough stuff
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's an old saddle that's been baking in the bold Arizona sun far too long!

Excellent, Elizabeth, even to the original stitching
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you so much, Lisl - it was an old saddle baking in the bold Arizona sun
I bet this was beautifully soft at one time
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was no doubt someone's pride and joy.... an old saddle that's now been baking in the Arizona sun far too long.

Looks like my walking shoes after 3,000kms smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile Oh dear!
Your shots make me want to touch it.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It was pretty rough - an old saddle left baking in the Arizona sun
I love these detail shots... gives me an idea for shooting my old shoes. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Larry - Just about anything old will make an interesting shot!
I like both photos but it is that line of holes round the top edge of the lower picture that I really like, if they were done by hand then the precision of them is excellent.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! I really can't say. It was a very old saddle that had been left baking in the Arizona sun for far too long.
i like the texture on the first shot, Elizabeth. reminds me of the rusted, corroded body of a vehicle.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Ayush! I do see what you mean! It's a very old saddle, that had been left baking in the Arizona sun for far too long!

Ah.. I would never have guessed that unless you said. Now I realise that i'm looking at the lacing.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's a very old saddle that has been left baking in the Arizona sun for far too long!
Decisamente vecchio, quasi quanto il mio pescatore smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes! It's an old saddle that had been left baking in the Arizona sun far too long!
