A sort of poor man's corvette, aren't they, Elizabeth...a very nice montage here.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well... I'm afraid I'll have to beg to differ... Corvettes are sports cars - quick and sleek. Mustangs are muscle cars - powerful and stocky. I suppose Americans may be the only ones that make the distinction. I usually lump Mustangs in with Camaro's, Firebirds, Chargers and GTO's. While I think of Corvettes along with Spiders, Porsche's, Vipers, and on the higher end... Ferrari's and the like.
Love that hat... I remember the original Mustangs and the sensation they caused...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is a good hat!! I've ridden in some very powerful Mustangs... and then there were the second generations - churned out during the oil crisis - A friend had one that he named "The Turtle"

Ooooh!! An excellent collage you've put together of these Mustang emblems!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks a bunch, Steven! Love them!
I'll never forget my university days (at Michigan!) when I first started seeing the Mustang everywhere, Elizabeth. It may possibly be the most iconic car model ever!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I just love them!
Jolie présentation de toutes ces Mustang.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: thanks, Martine!

Nothing to be afraid of, Elizabeth...I enjoy learning from folks who know more than me about stuff.

I have never really known about muscle cars V sports cars, but you have taught me the first lesson.

For me, the distinction was between utilitarian cars and frivolous cars, and you have broken frivolous down another step.

Thank you for that...I learn all the time from SC!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I learn from all of you all the time! smile

Oh - and I see what you were comparing - totally makes sense!
It was the badge that made the car
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Iconic for sure!

I remember when I was 16 years old my boss had a green Mustang and drove me around sometimes....
Fabulous montage and I have to say you know 'your cars'... (read the reply to Ray. wink.
I think the Mustang is the only car that when you say the word 'MUSTANG' everybody knows where you are talking about.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oooooh! Fun!
Thank you - I know some... I enjoyed working on my own car when I was in high school - and worked at an auto parts store!
You are absolutely right! No mistaking a "stang"!

To my personal taste, 'Detroit' haven't made many cars that I would class as beautiful - but the Corvette and Mustang are definitely two beauts. I find your distinction between sports and muscle cars quite interesting.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I agree with you there!
Thanks, Louis!

What a fine collection.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: thanks, Chad!
An excellent collage of this iconic car. My BIL had one for a while many years ago but despite being a fully fledged car mechanic something went wrong with it and he didn't have the money to put it right so he sold it on.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you!
Awe too bad! I took auto shop in high school and really loved working on my 1976 Grand Le Mans (400 / 4 barrel carb... SWEET!), and my friend's Mustang Shelby! I worked in an auto parts store and whenever I had spare time I hung out with my friend Marino, who had a little repair shop. He and his wife took me under their wings when I left home at 16.
God, am I that old!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: HA! Feels good though - they were the good old days!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: You've guessed right! smile
A nice assemblage!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Tom!
