Hard to take my eyes off this scene you have captured very well, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Ray! The layers of color were beautiful that evening!
Magnifique embrasement ..bonne journée
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Claudine! The colors were surprising that evening. But the trees had been burnt by a forest fire.

Such beautiful colours. Its either the end of baking hot day or a freezing one depending on the season. I guess the trees have been affected by a fire?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: That orange was amazing! It was actually neither hot nor freezing... this was a cool evening in September. But these are the colors we get in the south west!
Yes - a raging forest fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

A beautiful sky- but what did happen to the trees?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We were stunned by that color - it came & went quickly.
A raging forest fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Not an uncommon occurrence - but these fires are burning hotter and longer as a result of global warming, and unfortunately as a side effect of years of fire suppression.
Stunning shot, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Tom!
It's a magnificent sky, just right for the silhouetted trees. They look rather as if they've been in a fire of some sort.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We could hardly believe that dark orange along the horizon. It's the result of a raging forest fire on the Grand Canyons North Rim.
Burned land or a duned woodland. Wonderful in any case.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is the remnants of a what was a raging forest fire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. A hotter and drier summer that year.
A beautiful image, I would like it as a wall post.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Claudio! Your praise is much appreciated!
Very stark and very beautiful...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Larry!
