Sunday Skies

Over the next several weeks, my Sunday Skies series will

feature shots from a September drive from Flagstaff to the

Grand Canyon.  Compliments of a late summer storm.

A nice idea for a series...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks, Larry - I hope it won't be too boring - but then, this long running series can seem monotonous to some, I'm sure! smile

Now that is a lovely sky!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: We thought so, too!
Joli ciel cotonneux.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well described, Martine!
Ciel à  perte de vue ..merci !

It seems to be getting somewhat overcast to the left of the picture
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: You're absolutely right, Chris! In this shot we're looking North toward the Grand Canyon, but to get there, we have to drive North West for a bit... watch this page! smile
Bouncing over the white clouds
Killing the blues
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Very nice lyrics, Bill!
I look forward to this journey with you, and Frank I presume, it is one I know I will never make for myself.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Frank was behind the wheel, I was snapping away! The dive to the Grand Canyon goes through prairie and forest. Visitors will drive along for hours - nearly two from Flagstaff, four from Vegas or Phoenix... wondering "where is it? where is it?" The forest goes right up to the rim (at 7,000 feet) - so they are quite surprised when they finally arrive - rather abruptly, at the edge!
I can appreciate this as I would be watching them too, and stopping for photos.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh I know you would be, Mary!
I remember this trip, there was quite a storm brewing...
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yup - you had the pleasure of driving through it while I snapped away! XOX

I cannot get tired to observe the movement of the clouds, therefore I love your images of skies! No wonder that you fell into love with the sir of the Blue Skies!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: thank you so much, Philine! The sky is an ever changing canvas!
Oh yes - I did fall in love with his art first... then I met the man... and oh - how my heart still goes Pit-a-pat! smile
That's certainly big sky country!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Indeed it is!
