weren't you going to saddle up, Elizabeth? i loved this series and especially the dog getting pampered.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ummmm... not this time, Ayush! smile At one point she had the puppy snuggled up in her hat!

That pup might be an Australian breed, Elizabeth...a Blue Heeler
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Exactly right, Ray! They are very popular here in the west. Growing up in Wyoming Blue Heelers - or the red which we call Australian Cattle Dogs or Queensland Heelers - hanging out the back of every truck!

Horses are so much fun - but also a lot of work and long after the spectators sat down for a sundowner, the owners and grooms are still tidying up and putting the horses to "bed". Been there and done it ...

Great series - next time get Frank on a hoss with a cowboy hat - Franks with the hat, not the hoss.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I agree... on all counts! Fortunately, this competition is just a group of friends - and any spectators were either spouses or children - so everyone pitched in to put the horses to "bed", and dress down the steer... THEN we could all eat!

Thanks, Louis! Yes - I'll work on that... I think the hoss should wear a hat, too! smile
Time to head for the beer!

Nice set of pics E
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yup!

Thank you, Bill!

I love the shot of the dig peeping out from almost under the hat. The horse in the main image looked pleased that it's over and it can go off for a well deserved munch of hay.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Alan! Frank has some really great photos of that girl and her pup... I hope he'll post them!
Don't let him fool you - those horses LOVE their job!
A very good series Ellie.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, kindly, Michael!

Taking his cap off to you.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: He's a goofy guy... Wayne calls him the "Maltese Midget" smile
More good shots, Ell'...Rays right about the puppy. I don't remember seeing the lone ranger...smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you very much, Frank! Your turn! smile
I can tell you the Lone Ranger earned 100 bucks for manning the chutes!
I've enjoyed your people, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Mary! I'm so glad - really good folks, and really good fun!
Great finish Elizabeth, I love the picture with the girl and the puppy.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian! Isn't she adorable - Frank got some really great shots of her!
Man and horse look as one.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Some very good riders here. They may be getting on in age a bit... but they never lose those skills

You really captured the emotion of the day. Love the crispness of these shots.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Bonnie! It's always a good time!
That's it for another year?
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: And possibly forever... Wayne has the property up for sale :-(
