photoblog image Formby Beach

Formby Beach

According to British Airways flight path map...

I'd have flown over Formby Beach - so this will be looking

North over Ainsdale Beach toward the Ribble Estuary and

Preserve. Comparing my image to that of Google Earth,

I'm confident in my identification. A brief break in the

clouds afforded me this lovely view of sand dunes.

So near yet so far from your man. A fine glimpse of my favourite country, though smile

A cracking picture E. I am sure you are right in your identification .....I can think of a couple of people who will tell you if you are wrong!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks so much, Bill - I figured there'd be someone who knew for sure... seems Les Auld lives just up the coast here and seems to concur with my ID! smile

Good thing that you can identify the area. I love to do that too.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It is fun! And when you can track the flight path it really helps!

Does look like the Sefton Coast in all it's glory. My house is in the top right third of the image just before the Ribble estuary.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ahhhh - your ID makes me happy! And I'll be moving in shortly... smile
God, you're starting to sound like them now.... smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Seriously?! smile When I said something about the "bin" the other day, a friend said "Bin? Really?" I said "Oh geez.... what do we call them here? I can't even remember!"
So this is up Frank's part of the world then Elizabeth. Good shoot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Fairly close, yes! Thank you, Brian!
Well done, Ell', looks like we got it right in the end. smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, My Love! Well, it helped when I put in the correct flight! smile

What a great view you had - one of the few none grey days up in the north west smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Well - the cloud parted for just a short time, very lucky on my part!
Quite a shot to get, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I was rather pleased when I looked on the computer!
