Not n my price bracket, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Mine either!
They know how to rip people off
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh yeah - experts! Why are you and Chris up so early? What is wrong with you people? SLEEP IN!!! smile

It is known as fleecing those passing through..
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Ah then the little lamby keychain is appropriate?! smile

They take it from the living people, as we say in German. I thought you were sleeping in your bed.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Oh that's a good saying!
I can't sleep.... so thought I'd get on SC!
C'est dangereux de faire les magasins dans les aéroports, on a envie de tout acheter.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: I do like shopping in airports... but Heathrow is ridiculous!!! I've never bought anything more than a coffee! smile

Not exactly bargains Elizabeth. They prey on the boredom of travellers.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It's rather amazing. I usually enjoy looking around the shops at airports. But at Heathrow, the shops are so high end, I'm not even comfortable looking in the window! smile

I think that they really on people either trying to get rid of their foreign currency or else desperate for "Thank you for looking after the cat/dog/rat/house" gifts. My local airport sells hot tubs!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: HOT TUBS?! How do you get that home? smile
£4.55 for a small bottle of beer, now that is what I really call extortionate! I like the little chain but as much as Maureen is my best gal (as Ray would put it) I'm not sure I would pay that much for it, mind you it's her 70th.in October so the bank balance will be raided for something or other!
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Crazy, eh?!
I'd have MAYBE paid 15 for the little key chain. MAYBE!
Oh yes - The big 7-0 deserves something special! Frank arranged for me to go "shopping" at a friends house on my birthday. Ann sells high quality costume jewelry, and had spread out all kinds of beautiful little things on her dining room table for me to select from! I came away with several really gorgeous pieces that I'm very happy with!
Goods for the guilty who feel they must bring something home for the kids or dog sitter.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Only if you're uber rich! I can't even afford to window shop at Heathrow. Kind of spoils it, as I usually enjoy having a wander around airport shops.
Ha ha, not beer and keychains especially.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile HA!
i imagine with these price tags, there are not too many takers, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: You'd have to be fairly wealthy... and this was the cheap end!
I'll stick with the supermarket smile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes, that would be wise! smile
airport stuff is way too expensive... i can see paying $4.50 for a beer bit not in pounds..(gotta find the ASCI code for that one) Elizabeth...

BTW it's Penny's 70th birthday on August 9th... pass the word on for me....petersmile
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Crazy, huh?!
I've passed it on... but it may have been too late! Next year I'll know! smile
