Loving this series, Elizabeth.

I really like the grass seeds in the main shot, too.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thanks Ray! I'm always so impressed at the variety of flora to be found in the desert!

Yes, I can see it is a Mallow - how different it is from our Mallows which are mainly pink or purple
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: This is the most common Mallow in Arizona, Lisl.

Again another splash of welcome colour. I like the detail in the second shot.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Yes! These are fairly common and the color can vary slightly... but usually this bright orange is the norm!

Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: smile I always think everything should be named after me... but that would really be a mouthful... Spharalcea Buckalewus... Mallow Elizabetheae...
I can certainly see the mallow family in the plant but have never seen these with the beautiful red blossoms.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: It must be a south west thing? These are our most common Mallow.
Two more beautiful flower pictures on here today.
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Thank you, Brian!
Another pretty little flower
Elizabeth Croston Buckalew: Certainly is!!
